The Air Ambulance started operating in June 1999 and is based at Grove Park, White Waltham, Maidenhead.

The yellow Bolkow 105 helicopter carries life saving equipment and is crewed by a pilot and two paramedics. It can transport one patient to one of several hospitals in the area with landing facilities, or to a specialist hospital if required. The paramedics are provided by the NHS; all other costs must be funded by the Trust.

For more information please visit http://www.airambulancetvac.org/.

UNICEF

About UNICEF
UNICEF helps children receive the support, healthcare and education they need to survive the threats of childhood poverty - such as preventable disease or malnutrition - and grow up to become healthy adults.

We encourage families to educate girls as well as boys, so both men and women can play a full role in family life and broader society.

We strive to protect children from violence and abuse, and from exploitation through child labour or trafficking. We also protect children in the midst of war and natural disasters and provide emergency assistance, usually within 48 hours.

We strive to educate and care for children affected or orphaned by the HIV/AIDS pandemic and campaign globally for affordable, improved drug treatments for children. Our first global campaign "Unite for children, Unite against AIDS" was launched in 2005. We also undertake research into the reality of life for children worldwide and work with governments and other partners to improve life for children through policy changes.

UNICEF supports young people, wherever they are, in making informed decisions about their own lives, and strives to build a world in which all children live in dignity and security.

Working with national governments, NGOs (non-governmental organisations), other United Nations agencies and private-sector partners, UNICEF protects children and their rights by providing services and supplies and by helping shape policy agendas and budgets in the best interests of children.

For more information visit www.unicef.org.uk.

Water Aid

About WaterAid

WaterAid's vision is of a world where everyone has access to safe water and effective sanitation.

WaterAid is an international non governmental organisation dedicated exclusively to the provision of safe domestic water, sanitation and hygiene education to the world's poorest people.

These most basic services are essential to life; without them vulnerable communities are trapped in the stranglehold of disease and poverty. We work by helping local organisations set up low cost, sustainable projects using appropriate technology that can be managed by the community itself.

We also seek to influence the policies of other key organisations, such as governments, to secure and protect the right of poor people to safe, affordable water and sanitation services.

We are independent and rely heavily on voluntary support.

For more information visit www.wateraid.org

The World Development Movement

About The World Development Movement (WDM)

The World Development Movement (WDM) tackles the underlying causes of poverty. We lobby decision makers to change the policies that keep people poor. We research and promote positive alternatives. We work alongside people in the developing world who are standing up to injustice.

The world has the wealth and means to end poverty. Yet nearly half of the world's population live on less than £1.40 a day. And over 11 million children will die from poverty-related illness this year alone.

Policies of governments and companies are keeping people poor. Policies that ensure global trade benefits the rich, not the poor. The three richest men in the world are wealthier than the 48 poorest countries combined. Policies that give increasing power to multinational companies. For every £1 of aid going into poor countries, multinationals take £1.50 of profits out.

The powerful are exploiting the poor to make bigger and bigger profits. Unless we challenge them, we are allowing this injustice to continue. In rich countries like Britain, decisions are made which can make or break the lives of the poor. We can influence those decisions. That's why our action matters so much.

For more information please visit www.wdm.org.uk

Magic Taxi

About MagicTaxi

HALF of MagicTaxi's net revenue gained from advertising goes to charity. www.magictaxi.com provides quick access to the web where you can search for general web results, images, video and much more. Each time a search was performed 1p would be pledged to charity. The ability to do this was driven by advertising revenue earned from sponsored links in the search results.

Orignally the search results were powered by Google. Unfortunately Google decided that 1p per search was an incentive for users to search. We still refute this claim, but unfortunately Google stopped providing the ads.

The likes of Yahoo! and Ask also refused to partner with Oblatoo due to charitable nature of the search engine.

Consequently, the search engine had to be shut down as without advertising revenue it was impossible to meet any pledges to charities.

The name Oblatoo is derived from oblation, meaning a charitable offering or gift, and as we all know, every top search engine has two o's in it! Unfortunately, our great search engine idea will have to be put on hold for the time being.
